Based on previous public input, the City Council determined high density housing should locate near current and future transit stations. Developments near transit provide alternative transportation options for residents such as walking, biking, or taking transit. High density housing combined with commercial uses create opportunities for people to live, work, and play within a single development.
The areas designated as Transit Oriented Developments (TODs) include the existing Frontrunner Station and proposed stops for a future bus rapid transit (BRT) line. These are the areas City Council is considering for high density housing.
City Council wants your input as they make decisions that will impact the future growth of these areas. They want to know what density you think is good and also how you want these areas to look and feel.
There are three different opportunities below to visualize and discuss what these developments should be like.
How to Develop provides some generic feedback through a survey. It includes pictures of existing developments near transit in Utah and asks other density and design questions.
Great Places invites you to upload any pictures of high-density places you enjoy. This can help illustrate the optimal density for walking and essential design features from your own experiences. You will also be able to like and comment on other people’s images.
Ask a Question allows you to contact the Planning Department with any questions regarding developments near transit.
