Consultation has concluded
As part of the Lehi City annexation procedures, all annexation requests are required to be reviewed by the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission’s responsibility is to review the proposed annexation and determine whether the requested zoning is appropriate and complies with the General Plan. The Planning Commission’s recommendation will be forwarded to the City Council for their review upon final consideration of the annexation.
The General Plan designates this property as VLDRA. The applicant proposes R-1-22 zoning for 7350 N 8000 W (Approximately 1900 S Center Street). This proposed zoning complies with the General Plan designation.
The proposed annexation will add a portion of an existing county island and allow the applicant to connect into City water. This area has a general plan land use designation with the intent that it would annex into Lehi at some point.

While I do not oppose annexation or development, I would kindly ask for consideration for a four-way stop installed at the intersection of Center Street and 1500 S just north of the proposed annexation. The result of the previous development, the Lehi Market on the Durrant property, and organized sports in the park have significantly increased traffic flow and decreased children's safety to cross the road. It is common to see vehicles traveling well over the posted speed limit of 25mph, especially during peak traffic periods when traffic overflows off pioneer crossing into the neighborhood. We have had personal experience of speeding vehicles ignoring the crossing flashing lights with a child attempting to cross. With the police department not enforcing traffic in the city's south end and more homes being developed, this intersection needs a four-way stop. A previous study was conducted, but it was done during the day rather than at peak traffic flow on the weekend with sports and the market. Please consider this request as part of approving additional development in this area.
