Strata Network Portable Storage Containers

The applicant is requesting approval of a conditional use permit for the use of portable storage containers on the city-owned property located at approximately 1351 South 1100 West.

The property meets the Development Code requirements for property to have portable storage containers. The property is currently zoned A-1, and the Table of Uses allows them as a conditional use in the A-1 zone. Chapter 12 of the Development Code clarifies the standards and allows for them to be on the property permanently if the parcel is a minimum of five acres in size. No specific limit is stated in Chapter 12 on the number of storage containers. However, the applicant’s site plan shows only four portable storage containers.

The applicant’s narrative states that the storage containers will be used to store material for the Lehi Fiber Network project on a temporary basis. STRATA Networks plans to build a permanent storage building on the site in a few years and would no longer need the storage containers at that time.
