teodouble asked 7 months agoThe building under construction on 1500 North and 3600 West is the new Lehi Fire Station. Other buildings under construction along 2100 North include are a multi-tenant retail building that will have a drive-through, which is being built behind the Maverick. On the north side of 2100 North there will be a Dutch Bros Coffee and another retail building that will support a fast-casual restaurant.

JDart asked 9 months agoConstruction from Main St to 2100 N is beginning this summer. South of Pioneer Crossing is a Saratoga Spring's project beginning construction this year as well, as far as we know. The segment between Pioneer Crossing to Main St has been submitted for MAG funding, construction is expected to begin in 2028 if funding is granted. All of these project will widen 2300 W to 5 lanes (2 northbound, 2 southbound, and a center turn lane).

Share is 2100 N really going to become a full size freeway? i heard rumors about this and find it frankly horrific that we still pour so much money into such destructive solutions, imagining that the only solution to traffic is more extreme catering to cars. it can't actually be true can it??? on Facebook Share is 2100 N really going to become a full size freeway? i heard rumors about this and find it frankly horrific that we still pour so much money into such destructive solutions, imagining that the only solution to traffic is more extreme catering to cars. it can't actually be true can it??? on Twitter Share is 2100 N really going to become a full size freeway? i heard rumors about this and find it frankly horrific that we still pour so much money into such destructive solutions, imagining that the only solution to traffic is more extreme catering to cars. it can't actually be true can it??? on Linkedin Email is 2100 N really going to become a full size freeway? i heard rumors about this and find it frankly horrific that we still pour so much money into such destructive solutions, imagining that the only solution to traffic is more extreme catering to cars. it can't actually be true can it??? link

Rhys asked 9 months agoYes, it is true. Construction on the 2100 N freeway is planned to begin in 2026/2027. It will be located between the existing roadways, which will become frontage roads, and will connect the I-15 and Mountain View Corridor freeways. You can find more information and get updates at https://mountainview.udot.utah.gov. An interactive map can be found at this link https://uplan.maps.arcgis.com/apps/StorytellingSwipe/index.html?appid=e630310b07564f51aec2030bfe377679. It has a drag bar to show the Mountain View Corridor Freeway west of Redwood Rd with construction starting in 2024 on the left, the 2026/2027 2100 N freeway is shown on the right of the drag bar.
The Utah County regional transportation plan can be found at https://mountainland.org/rtp/. At this link you’ll find plans for freeways and arterials, transit, and active transportation. Our city road master plan is at https://www.lehi-ut.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Master_Transportation_Plan_11x17-minor-rev.-Jan-23-2023.pdf and our city bike and pedestrian plan at https://www.lehi-ut.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Lehi-Bike-Map-Adopted-11.14.23-11x17-1.pdf.
Full buildout population projections have Lehi City doubling and the combined populations of Eagle Mountain and Saratoga Springs quadrupling. Our biggest transportation challenge in the future will be handling their traffic through our city. So, trails, transit, and roads all need to have capacity increases to handle the demands. Transit and trails have to be part of the solution but can’t be the only solution.

phatBiker asked 9 months agoBoth ends of the Sensei trail are currently closed and inaccessible. Timing is not on our side currently, but once the dust settles we will have everything back up and running smoothly with an even better trail system.
The East side, where the Sensei trailhead is, has been closed due to a new irrigation reservoir that the city is building. We are currently constructing a reroute around the project to provide access to Sensei from the Dial-up Trail. I anticipate this will be completed and accessible by May. When the reservoir is completed by the end of the year, we will also have an expanded parking area at this trailhead.
The West side was originally constructed on Perry Homes property, with an agreement that it would need to be rerouted at a future date when they decided to develop their land. This happened sooner than anticipated and because of the extent of their project along that whole lower mountain face, we do not have a good location to reroute the trail until they have completed most of their backbone infrastructure work. I do not have a timeline for rerouting the end of this trail.
There is a trailhead parking lot currently under construction at the end of Fox Canyon Road. We anticipate this will be completed by the end of May, with future improvements such as a restroom and landscaping to come at a later undetermined date. This will provide access to the approximate midpoint of Sensei. We are also constructing three additional trails, two of which will connect to this trailhead.
