The Planning Commission provided a positive recommendation on this item. It will go to City Council for final consideration.

Lehi City seeks review and recommendation of a proposed zone change to Public Facilities for multiple public properties within the city. These properties include Exchange Park, Dairy View Park, Littlefield Substation, and others and a full map is available in the Planning Commission packet. This was the continuation of a comprehensive effort from City Departments to change all publicly owned property in the City to the Public Facility zone. Staff anticipates that this will finish the comprehensive Public Facility zone change update, with subsequent rezones as needed to accommodate new public parks and facilities. Additionally, Staff notes that no changes are shown in Planned Communities because the various area plans will need to be amended to make those changes.

City Staff proposes this zone change to ensure the long-term public use of these properties. Rezoning these properties to Public Facility adds another layer of protection to their public use. The PF designation also helps public properties to be easily identified on the Zoning map.
