Thank you for providing feedback, the information you provided has been reviewed and an amendment proposed.

It has come to City Staff's attention that our existing parking requirements for multi-family (townhomes, condos, and apartments) have created some parking challenges, especially on the west side. Staff is looking to update the standards to improve future developments in Lehi. The new standards will only apply to new applications that are submitted after the updates are complete.

Please take a moment to provide some feedback on how parking could be improved in these high density areas. Thank you!

Example Exchange does not have enough stop signs or speed bumps and only has 3 blocks of west side only parking for huge high density area and does not slow for others to park or drive thru safely and does not have clear markings of where to park like all red curbs so in a.m. come out to vehicle to go to work or in my case on way to hospital for heart surgery and find car missing from unmarked spot and $380+ to get car out of tow yard. Most communities have many rentals and each unit condo or townhome or home has multiple drivers that can’t fit in driveway or garage. That is a great question and great suggestions. Street design changes have been made in Willow Point, Gardner Point and River Point (current and future Edge Developments). These changes include bump outs on private streets,  narrower roads, and designated off-street parking spaces.  Stop signs are only used when they are warranted because too many stop signs can lead to people running them and increase the number of accidents. We have a great traffic engineer who is constantly evaluating specific streets and intersections to make sure Lehi continues to be a safe place to live.

Our parking requirement for single family homes it a two car garage. The front yard setback for homes also frequently provide off-street parking on the driveway. However, we know that often times the street becomes overflow parking. We do not have any intention of updating the single family parking requirements. We do not want to encourage all concrete yards to accommodate parking. That creates issues with drainage if there is too much surface that water cannot get through into the ground.
