The applicant wants to change the zoning on this property located at 2600 North 1200 West from Commercial to Mixed-Use. The applicant has stated their intent to build an office building with four residential units above. This matches the General Plan designation of Mixed-Use approved earlier this year.
This item will likely be approved because it matches the General Plan Land Use designation. In order to get it denied the public would need to provide some reasonable evidence that it will have a negative impact on the health, safety or welfare of the businesses or residents around it.

I agree with JasonF below! I'm glad this is happening, we really do need to encourage everything that can empower residents to live their lives without a car.
Yes, more mixed use development all over in all neighborhoods! We should encourage small shops with housing attached or very close by to enable more walking/biking without needing to always use a car.
