This item was approved by the Planning Commission. 

The applicant wants to put a pylon sign with electronic display for the gas prices and also a monument sign with electronic display gas prices. This is for the new Maverik on 1200 West next to the Weave office building. The pylon sign and electronic displays are a conditional use. This means they can have them as long as they meet certain criteria. It also means the Planning Commission can put reasonable conditions on these uses.

The applicant meets all of the requirements for the electronic display signs. For the pylon sign they are asking for 5 additional feet in height to make it visible from the freeway. The Code allows for this addition based on the Planning Commission's determination it is necessary. They can increase the maximum height to 70 feet, the applicant is only asking for 30 feet.

The pylon sign also requires that it has two support poles. This sign does not have two support poles, but has one larger support pole.
