Lehi City Tree Planting Standards
This item received a positive recommendation from the Planning Commission and will go to City Council for approval on April 26th.
This amendment was initiated by the Lehi City Parks Department to help improve the quantity and diversity of species of trees within Lehi City. The changes are also being proposed to address current concerns that commonly occur. The proposed changes include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Amending the spacing of trees from every 50 feet to every 30 feet of frontage and allowing for the adjustment of tree placement to address utility conflicts.
- Adding trees to detention basins when applicable.
- Including existing tree preservation at construction sites following Chapter 35 Community Forestry.
- Increasing inspection days from 1 to 2 days and including installation clarifications.
- Adding signage at trails for non-motorized vehicles.
