Legacy Center Rooftop Cell Antenna
Consultation has concluded
The applicant is requesting approval of a permitted use site plan for a new rooftop sled-mounted antenna on the city-owned Legacy Center property located 123 North Center Street.
The applicant’s narrative states that the location currently has one carrier installed on the rooftop and that this similar equipment would allow for extended coverage in the Downtown Lehi area.
The DRC reviewed the proposed rooftop antenna and had seven redline comments, including the following:
- Provide dimensions and details of the proposed antenna and equipment. The maximum height of an antenna is 18 feet above the roof line.
- On the new antenna footprints, provide dimensions to triangulate the location on the roof (this will be a need for the building permit)
- The Development Code requires that the antennas, mounting structures, and equipment be painted the color of the building.
- Roof mounted antennas must be setback from the exterior wall of the building or structure a distance at least equal to the height of the antenna above the roof
- Provide preliminary lease agreement for the rooftop antenna space.
After DRC, the applicant provided a response sheet and updated plans to address the comments. Notable responses include that they are currently working on a lease template with the City that is currently under review with the City Attorney and that basic terms are agreed upon. Additionally, they proposed white to match the existing carrier color. They are open to tan or brick color but would need the paint color if that decision is made.
