Consultation has concluded
Lehi City requests review and recommendation of a Development Code amendment to Chapter 20, Home Occupations, clarifying prohibited home occupations and adding a maximum number of clients for animal-related home occupations.
The amendment clarifying prohibited home occupations is specific towards cosmetic facilities that require biohazard disposal of products. This would include, but is not limited to, micro-blading, dermafillers, Botox injections, and neuromodulators. This amendment is being proposed to help resolve confusion between allowed uses, such as esthetics as opposed to uses such as the ones listed above that require biohazard disposal. This amendment is following research into the uses and discussions with professionals in the field.
The second portion of the amendment is regarding the maximum number of clients for animal-related home occupations. This amendment would add regulations for animal-related business to have a maximum of three client’s animals kept at the home at a time. It also clarifies that boarding of animals is not allowed and that any animal daycare would require a kennel permit. This amendment is being proposed after discussion with the Lehi City Animal Control Enforcement officer to help clarify the City’s requirements for boarding and home occupations.
The DRC had one comment, which was a question about body art facilities being prohibited and whether that includes permanent make-up. This was included in the code amendment under the prohibited cosmetic facilities as permanent make-up does require biohazard disposal.
