This item received a positive recommendation by the Planning Commission and will go to City Council on September 27th at 7pm.

The applicant requests review and recommendation of a proposed change to the Design Standards and Public Improvements Specifications Manual Section 3.09- Fire Department Access to amend the requirements to provide emergency access to construction sites.

The proposed changes will allow for improved emergency vehicular access and response to construction sites. Additionally, it will require that developments with narrower road widths provide temporary off-site parking for workers so that access can be maintained. An off-site parking plan will be part of the DRC review process. This amendment also allows, if necessary, that the City can require temporary fencing around a construction area if on-site parking is not successfully managed.
