Benches and shade around playgrounds, bathrooms a must! A sand volleyball court, and one or two tennis courts west of the pickleball courts. Design the ice rink to become a splash pad in the summer.

I'm so excited about this!!! I agree with other comments that, in the final design, the playground needs to have shades overhead. With summers in Utah getting hotter this should be a given for all future playgrounds. I'm super excited about the prospect of a small ice rink! We visited the Herriman Ice Ribbon a couple times last winter and it was so fun...even in the rain! Their ice rink doubles as a splash pad in the summer. Would this one as well? That would seem the smartest way to go given our area of Lehi could definitely use another splash pad.

I think there are some nice elements in there. I question a little the idea of an ice rink. How will that work? What is it in the non-winter times? Is it free? South Jordan used to have an ice rink in front of their city hall and they took it out. Maybe you should ask them about it! An ice rink requires people to have skates. Or will people be going on it without skates in their regular shoes? It has more liability. More danger of people getting hurt. Every time my daughter's went ice skating as young adults - someone got hurt. From cuts, to broken bones, to bruises. How is it frozen? Who smooths and maintains it? Think of roller skating rinks and the craziness of the mix of novice and experienced skaters. I just think that just has problem written all over it. Just my opinion. I think I would re-think that one. I agree with splash pad comments previously given. It would be more widely used.

Please add bathrooms! Will the playground have shade over the slides? Otherwise parks get too hot to use in the summer after 11:00 am when they are in the sun. Even Wines park which has mature trees, has an exposed playground and my little one got burned on the slide last week. I would love to see a water feature. The splash pad at Ivory Ridge is so overcrowded- clearly there is a great demand for something like this! A scooter/walking path that circles around the park similar to what Creekside Park in Alpine has would be really useful.

This is amazing!!!!! Splash pad/water feature would be amazing. Also some pavilions and lots of shade trees. Love the winter activities (sledding, ice skating)

Please allow Pickleball to begin play early in the morning between 5-5:15 am. During the summertime between 9-10 am, Pickleball becomes almost unbearably too hot to play so earlier start times are preferable. Harvey Park and PG’s new community Pickleball courts don’t allow people to begin playing until 7am so a lot of players go to Art Dye park in AF making Art Dye overcrowded. Many Pickleballers also like to play before work so please, please allow us start playing early!!! Sending a big thank you for putting courts in the master plan. Love my city!!

Great design-I love the walking trails, overlooks, sledding hill, ice rink and picnic pavilions! Would love an all abilities park like Adventure Heights in Spanish Fork with a sensory garden, splash pads, waterfalls and a river.

So much to love!
A splash pad and bathrooms would be a great addition.

Add in some sort of water feature please!

PLEASE PUT IN BATHROOMS! It’s not a family park if you can’t bring a potty training child, or any child for that matter.Everyone needs to use the bathroom 😅 bathrooms are for sure necessary.

I wish the skating rink was a splash pad , or it could do both, a splash pad in the winter and a ice rink in the winter. I absolutely love all the trees lining the roadway, how beautiful! I am thrilled to see an amphitheater, what a great addition and feature for this park. I wonder if the overlook at the top by the residential lots could be a bit bigger. I know many families watch fireworks from there on the 4th of July and at New Years. The walking paths look amazing. Thanks for putting together this great plan. The park will be a shining spot in our beautiful community and will be enjoyed by many families and people. I wish we could fit a few more reservable pavilions. What a great place for family reunions and birthday parties.

I have 3 young kids and a splash pad would be AMAZING this close! Please put in a renewable splash pad next to the pavilions where we can do little birthday parties and so forth.

I would also like to see more access for the neighborhood to the East. There is not enough ways out or in especially if there was an event or a lot of people trying to get in or out.

All of the pickleball courts will be used, well done! I agree with others that we need bathrooms and that a splash pad would be amazing. When I have (rarely) seen amphitheaters at parks, they are empty, so I’m not sold on that idea, but I could be wrong.

I LOVE the plans for this park! I am very excited to see the ice rink, and the sledding hill as well. As others have said, restrooms are necessary, and a splash pad would be great. Also, ample parking.

This park proposal looks fantastic!!!

I'd love to see a splash pad/ water feature. Also a really fun playground. Think Harvey Park in Pleasant Grove. Or even an all abilities park like Adventure Heights in Spanish Fork. I'd also like to see tetherball areas. As someone that wouldn't really use all the athletic fields, I'd love to see things that everyone could utilize, not just those interested in one specific sport. Or at least give equal space to playgrounds, pavilions, etc., as there are to the fields. Ample parking is very important. If there are going to be large games, will there be enough parking for all the teams so they won't have to park in the neighborhood?

I think this plan looks so great. What great activities. Is it possible to combine the rink area with a water feature since the rink is winter and water feature for the summer?

ashleymhc over 3 years ago

I agree needs bathrooms and I do not think the residential on the East side would be a good us of this are due to size. I would like to see a stream of water like dry creek park has naturally if possible. I would also like traffic to be studied as 6th East is not a viable road for the amount of traffic this will bring. Neither is 3rd East. I would love to see infrastructure for existing water pressure to increase and future water use. What are plans for security monitoring?
