Development Code Amendments to Chapters 1-10
Planning Commission provided a positive recommendation on this item.
City Staff reviewed the first 10 chapters of the Development Code and made minor changes. Below are a list of the changes. You can also few the marked up changes in the Code under documents to the right.
Chapter 1- Title, Authority and Purpose
No major edits made to this Chapter. Wording changes to add clarity. Elimination of some words that were unnecessary including Section 01.100 Repealing of Existing Ordinances and Effective Date.
Chapter 2- Interpretation and Effect
Language was added that the most restrictive provision of the Code applies when different provisions conflict. And other minor wording changes to add clarity.
Chapter 3- Administration
Lots of minor wording and capitalization changes as well as the elimination of Letter D in Section 03.060 that talks about approval of specific projects. This section was eliminated because it is covered in Chapter 11 of this code.
Chapter 4-Amendments to the City General Plan, Development Code, and Zoning District Map
This chapter only has minor changes to the wording and punctuation.
Chapter 5- Establishment of Zoning Districts
Updates to the wording and formatting of this chapter. The reference to the Industrial Zone was also eliminated because we have no more land that is zoned industrial and very low probability for any land to change to industrial.
Chapter 6- Planned Community Districts
Minor changes to wording, formatting and punctuation. The Residential Design Standards were removed from this chapter and a reference provided for their location in Chapter 37 of the Code.
Chapter 7-Historic Preservation Overlay District (H) and Landmark Sites
Only minor wording, formatting and punctuation changes were made.
Chapter 8- Permitted Uses
This chapter did not have any proposed changes and was not included in the packet.
Chapter 9- Conditional Use Permits
Edits included changes to wording, order, and elimination of some unnecessary verbiage.
Chapter 10- Development Applications and Procedures
The list of applications was reformatted and updated to include all current application types. Wording was added for clarification as well as formatting updates.
