This item received a positive recommendation by the Planning Commission and will be scheduled for City Council on February 22nd.

The City requests an update to the Development Code to the table of bulk and intensity and Planned Unit Development and Planned Residential Development Chapters.

The proposed amendment to the Table of Bulk and Intensity includes driveway length requirements. These requirements would be for single-family homes, townhomes, and any other type of residential dwelling type. The change would require a minimum of 20-foot driveway for all front-load homes. For the rear-load products, the driveways would be required to be either 0-4 feet or a minimum of 20 feet. The purpose for the proposed amendment is to ensure that driveways are a length that would allow for parking a car in the driveway or are short enough to discourage parking in the driveway.

The amendment to Chapter 16 and 17 would add the same statement to both chapters stating that PUDs (Planned Unit Developments) and PRDs (Planned Residential Developments) would be required to meet the driveway length requirements listed in the Bulk and Intensity Table.
