This item received a positive recommendation from the Planning Commission and will go to City Council on January 11th.

The applicant requests review and recommendation of a proposed amendment to Chapter 26 of the Development Code. The proposed Development Code amendment specifically addresses accessory structure heights.

The amendment is to allow for two story accessory structures on properties that are 22,000 square feet or more. These structures will not be dwelling units but will be used for storage or other non-residential uses. These buildings will still need to match or be smaller than the primary home with a 35-foot maximum height. Allowing for larger structures on larger lots should have minimal impact on the surrounding neighborhoods.
