Consultation has concluded
Proposed amendments to Chapter 26 of the Development Code. The changes are listed below:
- All accessory buildings must meet building and fire codes
- Internal ADUs must have a physical connection between the primary dwelling and the ADU.
- Accessory building cannot be located in utility easements
- Accessory buildings cannot be located closer than 12 feet to a house on a neighboring lot.
- Accessory buildings less than 16 feet in height can be located within 18 inches of the property line.
- Accessory buildings between 16 and 24 feet in height have a 5 foot side yard setback.
- Accessory buildings taller than 24 feet in height have a minimum 8 foot side yard setback.
- Accessory buildings cannot be taller than the main home.
