Cyprus Credit Union Drive-Through Request

Cyprus Credit Union is asking for approval to add a drive-through at their new location at 2501 North 1200 West. This place used to be Japanese Auto. The area is in the Commercial Zone, which is where businesses like banks can be built.

City workers have reviewed the plans to make sure they follow the rules. Most of the plans are okay, but the bank is asking for some exceptions, or special permission, on two things related to the building’s location and the parking lot.

Drive-Through Request

The bank wants to add two drive-through lanes behind the building. City workers said there are no problems with the drive-through lanes or how they are set up.

Setback Exceptions

The plan doesn't follow two of the rules about how far the building and parking lot should be from the property line.

  1. The building is supposed to be 25 feet from the property line, but it’s a little farther because there are utilities (like power lines) in the corner.

  2. The parking lot should be 20 feet away from the street, but it’s only 15 feet away. The bank tried to meet the rule, but they could only make it 15 feet because of the space available.

The Planning Commission needs to decide if they will allow these exceptions to the rules.
