2375 West Strata Network Shelter

I live directly across the park on the west side.
I don't know all the details about fiber optics, but if it is anything like the prior generations...that the closer you are to the equipment, the better the connection... then I say put it as close to my house as you can get it!

While I think fiber will benefit the neighborhood, I agree with the comments above. This park is extremely small with very limited parking. Taking away even a portion of it for the small building will negatively impact the space. Please look at Osier Park (or even Willow Park Campground), as suggested already by Doug Clark. It is much larger, and with the current buildings already there, it will have little, if any, negative impact on the neighborhoods and teams who utilize Osier park. Thank you.

This park is the only green space in the neighborhood offered to over 100 homes. The foot print of the structure compromises an already too small green area. Enhancing the green area with better upkeep and improvements to the aesthetics and recreational use-ability to the current homeowners would be more appropriately warranted. I.e pavilion, shade trees, quality play structure, basketball, Pickelball, ect…

Fiber optic is a benefit that could be provided to this neighborhood from placing the structure in a park or location that is more adequately suited or would be less intrusive to its limited space.

My name is Doug Clark, and I live right across the street from the proposed shelter. One of my biggest concerns is the lack of parking, which has been an issue with this park from the beginning. We already have service vehicles parking in this area of the street because of the existing utility boxes at the same spot. The plans don’t include additional parking, and the park is not big enough to have parking spots put in the park. This will add to the parking and traffic that already includes parents dropping off kids away from the nightmare of Willow Creek Middle School, soccer teams parking to use the park for practice, etc.

I believe our park was added to satisfy the green space requirements of the city. How many utility boxes or buildings can we add before we no longer are providing the expected amount of green space?

I do not understand why this shelter is not placed in Osier park, which has significant parking already, and would hardly notice the addition of this small building. Alternatively, the city has just acquired Willow Park, which has significant space for all sorts of things.
